The Philadelphia 76ers have fired head coach Doc Rivers after three seasons, the team announced on Tuesday. Rivers led the Sixers to a 154-82 record in his three seasons, but they failed to advance past the Eastern Conference semifinals in each of those years.

The Sixers were eliminated in the second round of the playoffs this season by the Boston Celtics, losing Game 7 on their home court. Rivers was criticized for his rotations and play-calling in the series, and he was ultimately let go by the team.

Rivers is a two-time NBA champion, having won titles with the Boston Celtics in 2008 and 2009. He is also a four-time NBA All-Star coach.

The Sixers are now in the market for a new head coach. Some of the top candidates for the job include Mike Budenholzer, Sam Cassell, Mike D'Antoni, Nick Nurse, Frank Vogel, and Monty Williams.

The Sixers are hoping to find a coach who can lead them to their first NBA championship since 1983.
