Yashasvi Jaiswal, the opening batsman for the Rajasthan Royals, made history by scoring the fastest fifty in the Indian Premier League (IPL). He achieved this remarkable feat by reaching his fifty in a mere 13 balls during a match against the Kolkata Knight Riders.
Jaiswal set the tone for the match by smashing two sixes and three fours off the first over bowled by Kolkata's captain Nitish Rana. His blazing start continued as he reached his half-century in just the third over of the match. However, Jaiswal's hopes of scoring a century were dashed when his skipper, Sanju Samson, joined him at the crease and scored a quick fire 48 not out.
In the end, Jaiswal fell short of the century mark, finishing on an impressive 94 not out. Nevertheless, his innings played a vital role in helping Rajasthan Royals secure a comfortable nine-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders.
Reflecting on his performance, Jaiswal said that the most satisfying aspect was hitting the winning shot for his team. He added that his focus was on learning to stay till the end of the innings and contribute towards the team's success.
