Dent remarked, "It's impossible for him to win the base when Trump is really just playing and pandering to the base." This refers to the fact that he has to gain swing votes, independents, and some Democrats.

Trump called the FBI's search of Mar-a-Lago "one of the most horrific abuses of power by any government in American history" during the rally.

It has subjected FBI agents to an increase in assaults after receiving criticism from Trump and his followers.

On Saturday, Dent responded to the outcry.

Dent stated that the FBI would have visited the houses of any lawmakers who were found in possession of secret information.
