Former US President Donald Trump said that the FBI seized three of his passports during searches at his Mar-a-Lago residence.
"During the FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago, they stole three of my passports, one of which was expired, among many other things," Trump wrote on Truth Social.
"This is an attack on a political opponent at a level never seen before in our country. A third world country," Trump said.
At the same time, the US Department of Justice told NBC News that the FBI currently does not have Trump's passports: they were returned to him.

Last week, Trump revealed that his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida had been raided by FBI agents . Several media outlets wrote that the search was allegedly related to an investigation into Trump's misappropriation of White House documents that he allegedly kept in Mar-a-Lago after leaving office.
According to the search warrant, the FBI is investigating a possible violation of the law on espionage by the former head of state, US media reported. In particular, as the Politico newspaper wrote, Trump had documents of the highest degree of secrecy.
A federal judge signed the search warrant on August 5. The list of documents seized by the FBI agents at the Trump residence, in addition to vague wording such as "a box of leather-bound documents," "a folder of photographs," and "a handwritten note," also included documents that were called "top secret" and "confidential," - notes the publication.
Trump himself, after the searches, said that he was ready to voluntarily give the documents confiscated from him, which were declassified, to the agents, the American media wrote on Friday.
Trump supporters believe that this investigation is politically motivated. It is assumed that his goal is to prevent the former head of the White House from participating in the 2024 presidential election.
